About the Fair:

April 5, 2008 • Noon to 10 pm • Rain date: Sunday, April 6

The Oak Hill World’s Fair – a spectacular, community building, family fun filled festival will be held on April 5th of 2008 at Fire Lake, on Fitzhugh Rd. off Hwy. 290 West, from noon until 10 pm. It is presented by the Oak Hill Association of Neighborhoods (OHAN), the Oak Hill Business and Professional Association (OHBPA) and the Oak Hill Gazette.

Oak Hill World’s Fair is a non-profit event with a mission to raise funds for Oak Hill community groups. This year’s festival will raise funds for Oak Hill parks, and the Oak Hill Trails Association (OHTA).

The festival will feature some of the best musical talent the Oak Hill area has to offer, including Grammy Award winner Cyril Neville and his band Tribe 13 as well as Grammy Award winner Floyd Domino, and his hand picked band the Oak Hill All-Stars. Musical performances will be on an island stage in Fire Lake (so called because of it’s fire-spewing fountain).

There will be a diverse assortment of entertainers, vendors, food, interactive exhibits, and activities. In addition, the Oak Hill World’s Fair will feature the debut of Convict Sledding Hill – the area’s first year-round snow sledding experience! In addition, the fair marks the debut of Pyro-palooza, which will culminate in a huge fireworks display.

There will be classic cars, along with many other quirky, creative and educational events, attractions and competitions that exemplify that special Oak Hill state of mind.

What to bring:

Please bring cash for parking, admission, and vendors. Parking is $5 per car and admission is $3 per head, with kids under 12 admitted FREE. There will be plenty of delectable food and drink for sale. Don't forget your sunscreen! Feel free to bring chairs and blankets but leave your glass bottles at home.
